Images Of Sony “Yuga” Prototype Surfaces

It’s no secret that Sony has a superphone in the works for 2013, but it appears that we now have an idea of what this device may look like. Thanks to some leaked images from Mobile Review, you can see how the Sony “Yuga” looks in plain view— and she sure is a beauty too. Similar to the Nexus 4 or LG Optimus G smartphones (as well as previous renderings we had seen before), the device is almost entirely coated in a glassy-type material coupled with a sleek black finish.

LG Rumored To Sell Nexus 4 At A Significantly Higher Cost Than What Is Found In The Play Store

While it’s exciting that Google is selling the Nexus 4 through its Play Store for as little as $299 here in the US and parts of Europe, it looks like those in other parts of the world may not be so lucky to grab the device for such a low price. According to Androidos, there are reports coming in from Europe indicating that LG will be selling the Nexus 4 directly for as much as €599 or $768 USD in countries like Italy. Additional reports indicate similar pricing for other markets including Spain and India, which will likely see the device priced at INR 34K or 35K (roughly $650 USD).

ZTE announces $160 Quad-Core Tegra 3 smartphone

ZTE, whose website proclaims is the world’s 4th largest manufacturer, announced the cheapest quad-core smartphone yet. The ZTE U950 packs a 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM but its most impressive spec is the 999 yuan price (approximately $160 USD).

O2 UK To Be The Only Wireless Carrier In The UK To Offer The Nexus 4 Smartphone, Celebrates By Giving Away LG TVs To The First 100 Customers

Google and UK wireless carrier O2 are generating quite a bit of excitement in anticipation of the newly announced Nexus 4 smartphone by announcing one heck of a promotion. In the spirit of O2 being able to secure the title of being the only UK wireless carrier to offer the Nexus 4 for one month, it has announced it will offer a free LG TV to the first 100 customers who are able to get the phone. Of course customers will need to keep in mind that the cost of the smartphone and especially the monthly tariffs will probably end up dwarfing the overall cost of the television, but hey— we all love anything free right and who wouldn’t want a new LG TV set?

Huawei Announces Honor 2 Smartphone. Brings Quadcore Goodness This Time

 

 

Huawei is determined to gain major influence in the Android world and with that in mind, it has announced the Honor 2 smartphone. The device will come jam-packed with a ton of features including an in-house developed quad-core chip with 2GB of RAM, 8 gigs of onboard storage (sigh) and a superior 4.5-inch 1,280 x 720 display with a snazzy 326 ppi. The device will be available for pre-order in China for 1,888 yuan (around $302 USD)— though there’s no indication of if or when the device will be released elsewhere.
