LG sells ‘modest’ amount of its L-series devices moving 10 million phones worldwide
LG declared today that the company has shifted 10 thousand L-series mobile phones globally including of the LG Optimus L3, L5, L7, and L9. While that determine may sound good, LG actually has simply called it ‘modest.’ In business talk, that appears to be as if LG did not quite meet revenue predictions. It’s a little complicated as they use the phrase ‘modest’ in the same phrase as the phrase ‘milestone.’
Nexus 4 Battery Life Not So Good
As we all anxiously await the November 13th arrival of the Nexus 4, I’m sure a lot of you are concerned how the battery life will fare. Well, early results aren’t very good. Based on recent unbiased and fairly scientific test results from AnandTech, the battery life on one of the most anticipated devices this fall will leave something to be desired. AnandTech did admit that they have yet to run through their entire battery life suite, but they did fully test, record, and publish the results of the most important category.
LG Rumored To Sell Nexus 4 At A Significantly Higher Cost Than What Is Found In The Play Store
While it’s exciting that Google is selling the Nexus 4 through its Play Store for as little as $299 here in the US and parts of Europe, it looks like those in other parts of the world may not be so lucky to grab the device for such a low price. According to Androidos, there are reports coming in from Europe indicating that LG will be selling the Nexus 4 directly for as much as €599 or $768 USD in countries like Italy. Additional reports indicate similar pricing for other markets including Spain and India, which will likely see the device priced at INR 34K or 35K (roughly $650 USD).
Nexus 4 battery confirmed to be easily replaceable
When Google unveiled the LG-produced Nexus 4, some potential customers were frustrated by the lack of a removable battery. This may be bothersome for those who rely on extra batteries to get through the day, but those worried about replacing broken, defective or burnt-out batteries should no longer do so.
Sprint to launch LG Mach on November 11th
Slide-out keyboards seem to be filling the news today. We just received an email stating that Sprint will roll out the LG Mach on November 11th for $99 on-contract. Sporting a nice slide-out keyboard, the device also is respectable on the features front.
WiFi calling not an option on T-Mobile Nexus 4 devices
Are you looking forward to getting your hands on a new LG Nexus 4 from T-Mobile? If so, you should be aware of one feature the new smartphone will not have – WiFi calling. T-Mobile confirmed this would be the case after many potential buyers started asking questions about the feature. WiFi calling does require a specific app or code to be enabled and is usually inserted by the carriers. Considering the Nexus 4 is produced by LG for Google, it should probably not be surprising that T-Mobile was not able to get carrier specific features included on the devices.

With the Nexus 4 officially announced, the next thing to discuss are the fun accessories that can be added to make it an even better device. You may have already heard about the charging orb, but here is another treat for you. A nice pro to using SlimPort is that it will charge your Nexus 4 during playback which makes watching things on the big screen that much easier. Rumor has it this is the first of a handful of accessories SlimPort will be making for the Nexus 4 so keep an eye out during the coming weeks if you plan on getting a Nexus 4 soon.

LG announced the Spectrum 2 available today on Verizon for $99 with a two-year contract. The Spectrum sequel gets bumped up to a 4.7-inch True HD IPS 720p display, sports a dual-core 1.5GHz processor Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 , 8-megapixel rear camera, and 16GB of internal storage with a microSD slot. If those specs sound familiar it’s because this is the same phone leaked by Best Buy last week.
O2 UK To Be The Only Wireless Carrier In The UK To Offer The Nexus 4 Smartphone, Celebrates By Giving Away LG TVs To The First 100 Customers
Google and UK wireless carrier O2 are generating quite a bit of excitement in anticipation of the newly announced Nexus 4 smartphone by announcing one heck of a promotion. In the spirit of O2 being able to secure the title of being the only UK wireless carrier to offer the Nexus 4 for one month, it has announced it will offer a free LG TV to the first 100 customers who are able to get the phone. Of course customers will need to keep in mind that the cost of the smartphone and especially the monthly tariffs will probably end up dwarfing the overall cost of the television, but hey— we all love anything free right and who wouldn’t want a new LG TV set?
