Small bits of HTC, Apple deal emerge in court filing

Since HTC and The apple company achieved an contract to cross-license patents and end their lawsuits, many have considered just what kind of deal was made. One celebration that was particularly fascinated is New samsung, who claims the contract reveals injunctions are not required as a value for certain infringements can be identified.

HTC DLX not heading to European markets

Earlier this month we reported on the pending release of the HTC DLX to global markets. The HTC DLX is virtually a mirror image of the HTC DROID DNA recently released in the U.S. market. The device is almost certainly heading to Asian markets. When we reported on a possible name change to market the device as an HTC Deluxe, we wondered whether the device would hit European markets. Unfortunately, the answer to that question appears to be “no.”

Apple and HTC forced to show licensing agreement to Samsung’s legal team

Not too long ago, HTC and Apple reached a settlement to end their patent disputes. Rumors were that it was a little unfair, but either way Samsung saw it as an opportunity to help their legal case against Apple and requested the details of the agreement be released. Fortunately for Samsung, Judge Paul S. Grewal agreed to the request, despite being “more than a little skeptical.” Samsung is planning to use that licensing deal to counter Apple’s injunctions by saying that Apple is fine with getting paid for their IP and patents, as is the case with that massive billion dollar payout, and therefore issuing injunctions against Samsung devices is an unnecessary step.

Samsung wants to use HTC licensing deal to undercut Apple in patent suits

By now, most of us are aware of HTC’s licensing deal with Apple that’s speculated to pay out between $6 and $8 per HTC phone. Samsung wants to exactly what that licensing deal covered. Why, you ask? If Apple licensed it’s “user-experience patents” to HTC, it could completely change these patent wars. Before, Apple has refused to license those user-experience patents, but if they were licensed to HTC but not offered to Samsung, well… I’m sure you can imagine that doesn’t look too great in the courtroom.

Verizon HTC DLX (DNA?) makes its way through the FCC

Well, one thing’s for sure; the HTC6435LVW will be coming to Verizon’s network soon. We just don’t know what it’ll be called yet. The sweet device has just gone through the FCC which means that we should see the device in stores within the next couple of weeks. As we learned a couple of weeks ago from the purported Verizon pricing list, the device will likely launch for

The HTC Facebook phone is alive and it’s codenamed the Opera UL

Over the summer we heard rumors that HTC is collaborating with Facebook for a Facebook themed phone. Of course everyone denied it, but it appears it’s definitely in development. It’s codenamed the Opera UL and it popped up in a NenaMark 2 benchmark test. Pocket-Lint has a source that claims the phone has been delayed, but we’re not sure what that means.

Thanks to a support page, Verizon’s HTC Droid DNA confirmed

Remember the awesome 5″ 1080p HD device that came out in Japan as the HTC Butterfly J? Verizon has been rumored for a while now to carry the device and thanks to a support page, the name has been verified to be the HTC Droid DNA. Kind of an odd name if you ask me. Either way, this will be one hell of a device with high end specs.
